Huddle Technologies LLC ("Huddle," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Huddle platform at thehuddleapp.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and authentication credentials (via Google or LinkedIn OAuth). We may also collect your city, professional headline, target role, and career interests.

Profile & Career Data: Resume data you upload or provide, including work history, education, skills, LinkedIn profile URL, and career goals. This information is used to generate your career map and find relevant matches.

Usage & Analytics Data: We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, match interactions, messages sent, IP address, browser type, and device information. We use first-party analytics cookies (cookie ID, page URL, timestamps) for this purpose.

Communications: Messages you send through the platform, including text messages and file attachments shared with your matches.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and profile
  • To generate your AI-powered career map and trajectory analysis
  • To find and suggest leverage matches with other professionals
  • To facilitate messaging and communication between matched users
  • To calculate and maintain trust scores within the network
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions (Huddle Pro, Huddle Expert)
  • To send transactional emails (match notifications, account updates) via Resend
  • To send SMS notifications (match alerts, reminders) via Twilio
  • To improve our AI matching algorithms and platform features
  • To analyze usage patterns via Google Analytics 4 and ContentSquare
  • To ensure platform safety and prevent abuse

3. AI Processing

We use artificial intelligence (including Google Gemini) to analyze your professional profile, generate career maps, suggest matches, and provide personalized recommendations through our AI assistant, Donna. Your data is processed to provide these features and is not used to train third-party AI models.

4. Information Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with the following service providers to operate the platform:

  • With your matches: When Donna creates a match, both users can see each other's profile information, match reasoning, and value exchange.
  • Supabase: Database hosting, authentication, and file storage.
  • Google Cloud (Gemini AI): AI-powered career mapping and recommendations.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions and expert session payments. Stripe collects payment card details directly; we do not store card numbers.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery.
  • Twilio: SMS notifications.
  • Google Analytics 4 & ContentSquare: Product analytics and experience optimization.
  • Vercel: Application hosting and edge network.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), row-level security policies on our database, authenticated file uploads with malware scanning, and secure OAuth-based authentication. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Analytics data is retained for up to 24 months. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Delete your account: Contact us at hi@thehuddleapp.io and we will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
  • Export your data: Request a copy of your personal data in a portable format.
  • Opt out of emails: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email. Transactional emails (match notifications, security alerts) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
  • Opt out of SMS: Reply STOP to any SMS message to unsubscribe.
  • Correct your information: Update your profile data at any time through your account settings.
  • Object to processing: Contact us to object to or restrict certain data processing activities.

8. Cookies & Tracking

We use first-party cookies for authentication, session management, and analytics. We also use Google Analytics 4 and ContentSquare for product analytics. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

9. Children's Privacy

Huddle is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also send an email notification.
