I've been spending a lot of time lately thinking about the difference between truly understanding a company's financials versus just crunching numbers. For you VCs and banking folks out there, what's the secret sauce to spotting that one crucial financial anomaly or trend that everyone else missed, and how do you even begin to look for it in the first place?

It's less about secret sauce, more about robust data interrogation. I look for a 5% churn spike on a specific cohort that doesn't align with seasonality; that's usually a sign something's broken.
