I've seen founders struggle with scaling their sales teams effectively, often hiring too quickly or too slowly without a clear strategy. For those who have successfully navigated this growth phase, what was the single most impactful change you made to your sales hiring process that truly accelerated your company's trajectory?

Before scaling, I always ask: "What *specific* customer problem are we solving *now* that requires a larger sales footprint?" Often, the most impactful change was refining our ideal customer profile and hiring for that specific need, rather than just throwing bodies at the problem – I've seen too many "feature factories" emerge from misaligned sales hires.
