Terms of Use

Welcome to Huddle. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Huddle platform operated by Huddle Technologies LLC, including our website at thehuddleapp.io, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Huddle. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under it. You must provide accurate professional information in your profile, including your real name, work history, and credentials. Misrepresenting your identity, credentials, or professional background is grounds for immediate account termination.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Huddle for legitimate professional networking and career development. You may not:

• Use the platform for spam, solicitation, or unsolicited commercial messages
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Misrepresent your identity or professional credentials
• Share content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights
• Attempt to manipulate trust scores or match outcomes
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the platform
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use the Service to recruit, sell products, or promote services without authorization

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Huddle offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans (Huddle Pro and Huddle Expert) are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to the following:

• You authorize recurring monthly charges to your payment method at the then-current subscription price.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
• We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' notice.

5. Expert Sessions & Payments

Huddle Expert subscribers may host paid live sessions. Session payments are processed through Stripe Connect. Huddle retains a platform fee as disclosed in the Expert dashboard. Payouts to experts are handled by Stripe according to their terms. Huddle is not responsible for the quality or outcome of expert sessions.

6. AI-Generated Content

Huddle uses AI (including our assistant, Donna, powered by Google Gemini) to generate career maps, match suggestions, and recommendations. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes and should not be considered professional career advice. You are responsible for your own career decisions.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (messages, profile information, uploaded files). By using the Service, you grant Huddle a limited, non-exclusive license to use, store, and process this content solely to provide and improve the Service.

8. Trust Scores

Huddle maintains a trust score system based on your interactions and reputation within the platform. Trust scores are calculated algorithmically and may affect features available to you, including match frequency and visibility. We reserve the right to adjust trust score calculations at any time.

9. Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receive transactional emails (via Resend) and SMS messages (via Twilio) related to your account activity, matches, and platform updates. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. You may opt out of SMS by replying STOP.

10. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hi@thehuddleapp.io. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Upon deletion, your profile, messages, career data, and analytics will be permanently removed.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any reason with notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately and any active subscription will be cancelled.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that matches will lead to employment, mentorship, or any specific outcome. We are not responsible for the actions or conduct of other users.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Huddle Technologies LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of New York, NY.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
